Lafayette-website-design-765-signEver since we started lighting Main Street with our talismanic sign, we've received a lot of questions regarding it's significance and why we chose to use a skull, of all things, to advertise in our front window.

The idea was to use a sigil with superstitious meaning to ward away evil. Now, we don't subscribe to astrology or magic; we just thought it was an interesting way to add creativity to the downtown scene. We liked the idea of stepping outside our typical brand identity to create something unique and thought-provoking, something that would inspire thought and make the passerby wonder.

Honestly, our talismanic sign design has less to do with superstition or any magical significance as it does with pure design. We like bold, high contrast design. The vertical symmetry serves as a provocative focal point for the elements we wanted to present in this design.

So, keep an eye out. We'll be lighting the dark from our perch above Main Street. Regardless of the intent, maybe our sign will even help keep the evils of ennui away by cheering you up!

Never fear! Maximumedia is here!

lafayette-advertising-designWe design advertising, but we also do signs!

Ours is a machine-cut stainless steel enclosure lit with interior rope lighting which we flush mounted to our wall. To get the interior of the letters just right, a piece of glass was affixed within the enclosure upon which are mounted our letter shapes. To get the signature "Maximumedia red" we carefully painted our glass. We think the result is iconic.

Simple, effective design and presentation: that's what we strive for at Maximumedia Design.

What does your sign say about you?

The "M" stands for Maximumedia!maximumedia-candy-promotional

We had some custom M&M's designed for the office in our brand colors to kick off the new year! Helping to increase our brand recognition, promotional items are a great way to allow your clients to interact with your business in a way that is fun and rewarding.

The Maximumedia "M" logotype is accompanied by our studio design website "www.maximumedia.com" and our Twitter handle "@MaxDesignOnline." They may last only a few seconds, but sometimes that is enough to ensure your brand is always on their mind...and not melting in their hand.

We tend to think that fun marketing ideas make your brand stand apart from the rest. So, stop in today and grab a handful before they're gone!

maximumedia-lafayette-design-backupWorking for a number of clients in many different media, we tend to accumulate a large number of files. These files include not only design files, but the images we have edited, their source documents, copy and many other odds and ends that all eventually are compiled into a final product. Losing these files after the final document has been designed would seem to be okay most of the time if your finished file doesn't include links to outside files, but what about after the document has been designed, approved and shipped? What do you do when your computer crashes? Your emails have been deleted? Your office blows up?! And all of the effort you put into those finalized designs is dashed against the pavement?

That is where we have stepped in and created a very simple daily backup plan for Mac that allows you to do your work without wading through a complex backup strategy or taking the time to sort files for upload, log in to your server and any other numerous tasks involved in a backup formula. What is more, our backup plan includes getting your files to an online storage facility; namely Dropbox, a free online backup solution.
